APPLETON, Wis–A former Appleton Police officer is accused of forging signatures on a warrant. Jeremy Haney is charged in Outagamie County Court with Forgery, Misconduct in Office, and Obstructing an Officer.

According to the criminal complaint, Haney faked the signatures of an assistant district attorney and a judge on a warrant to place a GPS tracking device on the vehicle of a drug suspect in May of last year. Haney was working with the Lake Winnebago Metropolitan Enforcement Group at the time.

He resigned last month after an investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department. Haney faces up to 9-years in prison if convicted.
